rooburoo ( pr: roo-bur-roo ) means 'face to face' in a variety of Indian languages. we offer food from all regions of india that is appropriate for anytime of the day. snacks for when you're on the go, bites for when you're peckish and meals for when you're hungry. rooburoo has always focused on Indian food that is light, healthy, locally sourced and above all - delicious.

the food and versatile menu has a fresh take on traditional Indian food. the flavours and dishes offered take into account modern aspects of good ingredients, healthy eating and are presented with simple sincerity. we believe good Indian food should be accessible, of a high standard and priced and spiced to be eaten every day. since opening less than a year ago we have been feeding the discerning crowd of Islington and commended for our food from many quarters.

since it’s launch in 2007 rooburoo has won accolades and critical acclaim including being classified as one of london’s top three restaurants in the evening standard’s ‘best of london’ feature, as well as one of it’s top ten indian restaurants. the times noted it as being london’s best value restaurant, and noted food critic fay maschler featured it in her article “this is where I would spend my own money.” aside from this it has been featured in charles campion’s london restaurant guide, time out eating and drinking guide 2008 and has the distinction of being the only indian restaurant from north london in the good food guide.

rooburoo was also nominated in the best indian restaurant and evening standard award categories of the itv restaurant awards 2008. a modern, indian and casual dining experience, we can be found amongst the hustle and bustle of chapel market. it is a two minute walk from angel station and upper street.
